Check Egos at the Door

“Our own egos and personal agendas must never get in the way of doing what is best for the team. We don’t take challenge personally or defensively. Make sure every decision is based solely on what will best advance our team goals.”

Considering our professional selves, it is important to consider those around us who complete our team. When we work together, consult one another, and all contribute our special talents toward our common goals, we can each delight in the success of the group.

It’s important to set a culture of togetherness in our workspace. This includes all of u, especially in the homecare setting. We may not be working within the same four walls. That is not a reason for not working together though.

We may have team members who are not in the office, as they are physically in a client’s home. Perhaps we are working with families who reside in other states. We certainly have many different clients, with various goals, along with unique personalities and needs. Regardless, we can always work together, support one another and take on the challenges collectively. When we operate in this manner, we form a unified bond and enjoy the successes of our common goals and growth, as a team.
