Constitution # 19

Be Reliable- Honor Your Commitments

If you say you are going to do something or be somewhere, fulfill it or communicate when you will not be able to. Be careful not to over-promise.”

In business, especially in our business of home care, others are counting on us. What they plan or need to do may depend on each of us doing what we say we will.

When we actively listen to our clients’ needs, we must be sensitive and careful to offer a solution that is viable. Don’t promise the impossible. Don’t say what someone wants to hear just to get their business. It is our job to act on what has been shared and promised.

Think about this thought from Benjamin Franklin, “Words may show a man’s wit but action his meaning.”

We must always serve with patience, reliability and integrity. Say what you mean, and mean what you say. Your reputation as a leader in the industry demands it.

Share what it means to you to act on your word? How do you feel when someone keeps their commitment?
